Winemaking is not just a profession. It's my soul's connection to the vibrant winemaking community of Switzerland. It's about reviving a 700-year legacy of Completer wine magic in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
Benedictine monks crossed the alps from Italy to Switzerland, cradling their unique Completer grapes in the 13th century. Their prayers met cheers with glasses filled by Completer after the last prayer of the day, the “complet”.
MON COMPLETER, a wine resilient to climate change, boasting a Riesling-like balance of a strong acidic backbone tampered by exotic fruit flavours.
Who's the driving force behind this tale?
Yours truly, Melanie Weikert, aka the "young" vigneronne. After a stint in the pharma world and raising three gems, I flipped the script in 2015, diving headfirst into my passion. Two transformative years of Viticulture and Enology studies at Changins the mecca of Swiss vine and wine education, fueled this journey of heart and wine.
In 2019, I intricately united 1000 meticulously chosen Completer buds with old Chasselas vines, envisioning a harvest that could yield 1000 exclusive bottles.
With precision, we handpick grapes from a unique micro-vineyard, resulting in a spectrum from 0 whispers (due to frosty 2021) to a bountiful 530 liters in 2023.
Harvest 2022 on sale now: 414 bottles, aged 14 months in old oak barrels, vinified with the support of the winemaking expertise of Cave La Romaine in Flanthey, between Sierre and Sion.
